Should I go on a Short Term Missions Trip with First the Kingdom (FTK)?
We believe that the first thing you should do is pray and seek the kingdom of God (Mat. 6:33). Jesus said “therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Mat. 9:38). You just might be a laborer to join us on a mission trip!
How much does it cost?
Short term mission trips with FTK costs $200 per person. This cost includes training, transportation, hotel accommodations, evangelism supplies, and most meals.
Do I need to put down a deposit to hold my place on the trip?
Yes. $50 (nonrefundable) is required to secure your spot on the trip. There are a limited number of available spots for each trip so please don’t wait to give your deposit. At the time of your deposit we also require the first page of our application be filled out.
When is the rest of the money required?
The rest of the application and the rest of the Mission trip fee are due 30 days before the trip unless special arrangements have been made with the group leader.
Do I need a passport to travel to Baja California?
Yes. You need either a passport ($90) or a passport card ($65) and either can be obtained at www.usps.com/passport. Please note: it is faster to get the passport card, but it is only good for entering Mexico or Canada by land/sea.
Am I required to go to training?
Every team member must go through a 4-6 week training/practice with FTK in order to order to be fully equipped for harvest work and fellowship for team unity in the field.
Do I need to memorize any verses?
Yes. Verses to memorize: I John 5:13, Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Romans 5:8; John 14:2-3; Romans 10:9, 13; John 1:12; Luke 15:10
Do I need to bring anything with me on the trip?
All missionaries must have a large backpack in order to carry evangelism tools, bibles, and humanitarian supplies. Other items needed for the trip include:
• Sneakers
• Bottles for water
• Sunscreen
• Insect repellant (with Deet)
• Hat
• Sunglasses
• Comfortable clothes that are modest and cultural acceptable
• Set of clothes for church on Sunday
• Money, to pay for lunch on the way Baja, and to give as offering at the church service
Do I need to take any time off work in order to go on an FTK missions trip?
Typically, we leave Oceanside at 8:30am on Friday and return by 7pm the following Sunday. Most people have to take Friday off in order to come on the mission trip.
What else do I need to know?
That if you feel lead to go and come to Baja CA with FTK you will feel used by God in an amazing way that will change you forever. You will come home with a new understanding of the Gospel and a new love for people who don’t know Jesus.
